I will describe opportunities for both "research projects" and thesis work with our group, spanning the range from variable stars to Galactic structure to observational cosmology. We are engaged in a number of survey projects, including PanSTARRS and optical/IR followup observations of galaxy clusters detected through distortions of the microwave background. In addition our group builds instruments, and there are opportunities for student involvement on that front as well. These projects are all motivated by science questions that lie at the intersection of physics and astronomy. I'll also share with you the fine print on the consumer warning label for our group.
