Research Interests Research on radiation mechanisms and "activity" in the nuclear regions of nearby spiral galaxies, including our own. Studies of the dynamics and energetics of the molecular material in the local interstellar medium associated with young OB clusters and regions undergoing rapid collapse. Emphasis is placed on spectroscopic techniques in the radio and infrared wavelengths, and interferometry. Preparing the scientific agenda for the Submillimeter Array under construction in Hawaii.
