Science A-17, The Astronomical Perspective

Research Interests The formation and evolution of binary stars. Observational cosmology and the large-scale structure of the universe; the kinematics and dynamical evolution of star clusters; the origins and evolution of the chemical elements in our galaxy. Construction of large telescopes and observing facilities; development of astronomical instruments and detectors for large telescopes; modern computer hardware and software systems as applied to astronomy.
