Composition/Term:

Three members from different scientific divisions serve for a three-year term. The Chair is chosen from among those who have already served one year and serves during the second year of his or her term. The Predoctoral Research Oversight Committee is composed of former Fellowship Selection Committee (FSC) members who have served a two-year term and are rotating off of the FSC.

Charge

To review, accept, or reject predoctoral fellowship applications previously reviewed and accepted by the potential CfA advisors from the applications received and reviewed in April each year. The Committee also reads the Predoctoral Research Review Committee reports on each current CfA Predoctoral Fellow, which is generated by the Predoctoral Research Review Committee each spring. Members meet in May or June each year to discuss the reports and make recommendations for improvement in the students' research programs. Members also attend and support the annual CfA Predoc Symposium held in February or early March.
