This large hall is conveniently located on the western edge of Harvard Square, a five minute stroll towards the heart of Harvard Square from the Sheraton Commander hotel. The public lecture by Charles Townes in the evening of June 13 will be held at the Paine Concert Hall at the Harvard Music Department, after the conference reception. Check conference web site for detailed maps of the Harvard Square area and for directions from the two conference hotels to the conference site, the public lecture site, and to local public transportation. 3. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM The conference has generated overwhelming response, with more than 180 registered participants! We look forward to an exciting meeting with a very diverse set of invited and contributed papers. However, this large response also means that we do not have room on the speaking agenda to accommodate every request for oral presentations. The SOC, after reviewing the submitted titles and abstracts, is currently finalizing the scientific program for the conference. A preliminary agenda will be available on the conference web site before May 13. The final agenda will be posted to the web site in the week of May 16. In addition, each registrant will receive an email detailing the status of their contribution (even if only registered), along with an edited abstract for final proofreading. We are still missing some abstracts; if you have not done so already, please email ASAP in ASCII text (TeX/LaTeX formatting ok) to: smast05@cfa.harvard.edu At the meeting site, poster boards will be available to accommodate standard-size posters of 4 ft H x 3 ft W (120 cm x 90 cm) or 3 ft H x 4 ft W (90 cm x 120 cm) 4. REGISTRATION FEE DUE Registration for the conference is now closed. For those who selected payment via mail, you must mail in your payment by May 23. 5.
