CfA SMA Science Symposium 2009

A day of SMA Science for the CfA Community

Wednesday, April 15, 2009
9 am - 5 pm
Phillips Auditorium

The purpose of this meeting is to present recent results from science projects undertaken at the CfA with the SMA, and to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas about SMA results and capabilities among the broader community. This meeting is open to anyone at the CfA who is interested. Participants may attend for the full day or for any part of the day, including the coffee break/poster sessions. There is no need to register, and there is no registration fee.

The meeting format will consist of a program of contributed oral presentations and posters, with ample time for discussion. Topics will span the wide range of SMA research and feature results on our Solar System, star forming regions, evolved stars, the Galactic center, and galaxies both nearby and at cosmological distances. During the lunch break, there will be opportunities to visit the SMA Control Room at 160 Concord Ave. to see SMA observing live, and also to tour the Submillimeter Receiver Lab. Following the meeting, all of the presentations will be posted on the meeting web site.

Information on submitting abstracts may be found here. The deadline is Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
