Title: Discovery of a Population of HI Clouds in the Galactic Halo

Abstract: Recent 21cm observations with the Green Bank Telescope show that there is a previously undetected population of discrete HI clouds in the halo of the inner Galaxy to at least 1.5 kpc from the Galactic plane. The clouds are seen at the tangent points and thus have well-determined distances. Cloud velocities primarily follow Galactic rotation. This talk will discuss properties of the clouds, their distribution, and their relationship to other components of the Galactic halo.
