Title: Models of Black Hole Accretion

Abstract: The supermassive black holes that lie at the centers of most galaxies, including our own Sgr A*, have luminosities far below Eddington. I will give an overview of models of these blackest of black holes, with an emphasis on the luminous, relativistic regime close to the event horizon. We are beginning to understand some basic dynamics, such as the effect of tilting the accretion flow with respect to the black hole spin. But many interesting puzzles remain, and I will describe some related to the dynamics and radiative properties of the accreting plasma.
