Abstract:
Models for Type Ia Supernovae and their progenitors will be critically reviewed. The strengths and weaknesses of existing scenarios will be presented in detail. The relation of the different models to the use of Type Ia supernovae for the determination of cosmological parameters will be discussed, and crucial observational tests will be suggested.References for students:
