Title:
Recent Results from the Spitzer GLIMPSE Legacy Science Program
Abstract:
A brief description of the GLIMPSE Legacy Science program will be given.
Preliminary results on the largescale distribution of stars in the Galactic plane will
be discussed. In particular, detection of an asymmetry in star counts between the
northern and southern hemispheres will be discussed accompanied by some
speculation on the implications of this. Morphologies of dust distributions in the
the neighborhoods of massive star formation regions will be shown, again with
some speculation on their origins. I will end with examples of detections of various
classes of objects in and beyond the Galactic disk.
