Title:X-ray Absorption and Reflection in Active Galactic Nuclei
Abstract:X-ray spectroscopy offers an opportunity to study the
complex reprocessing regions close to super-massive black holes in
active galactic nuclei. X-ray observations can help us learn
about the accretion process that fuels these systems and the
feedback of material to their host galaxies. I describe the
spectral signatures that may be studied in the X-ray band and
review what can be learned from X-ray spectral variability of
active galaxies, concentrating on progress from recent Chandra,
XMM-Newton and Suzaku data.
