S162 (Apollo 16)
The Apollo 16 S162 Alpha Particle Spectrometer flew in the Science Instrument
Module Bay (SIMBay) of Apollo Service Module SM-113 in April 1972.
The S054 X-ray Spectrographic Telescope was flown on the Apollo Telescope Mount
on the Skylab space station in 1973-74.
The A-3 experiment on HEAO-1, launched in August 1977.
The experiment consisted of two scanning modulation collimators
with proportional counters, used to get accurate positions of known
HEA provided the High Resolution Imager (HRI) for the German-US ROSAT satellite.
The HRI was a microchannel plate detector which made the highest spatial resolution
soft X-ray images to that date.
