HR: Employee Handbook: Probationary Period

Most new Federal and Trust employees serve a 1-year probationary period. The probationary or trial period is an opportunity for supervisors to observe an employee's conduct, performance, and ability to do the job. An employee who is found unsatisfactory for continued employment status may be separated before the end of the probationary period without full job protection rights.
