TITLE: Editor (Television), IS-301, Grade 12, $75,222 to $97,787/ Per Year
TYPE OF POSITION: Trust Fund (non-Federal) Temporary NTE 6/30/2013, with possibility of extension through 12/31/2013. This position is part-time (32 hours/wk)
DIVISION: - Science Education Department
LOCATION: Cambridge, Massachusetts
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is open to all qualified candidates.

DUTIES: The Editor is responsible for managing the completion and delivery of assigned SMG programs in all distribution formats, including videotape (to PBS broadcast specifications) and interactive media formats. The Editor edits and finishes programs as needed; collaborates with Producers and senior project staff on overall project design; supervises the editing performed by others; manages, staffs, and schedules editing facilities; budget equipment, supplies, and labor; plans future technological purchases; organizes and maintains edit suites into a fully integrated digital editing facility.


QUALIFICATIONS : To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Such experience should include but is not limited to: primary editing responsibility for long-form documentary broadcast television programs, i.e., PBS, National Geographic, Discovery, The History Channel, or other national broadcast or cablecast programming.
