The Orbit of 1996 TL66

The plot below shows the orbit of the unusual object 1996 TL66 in relation to the orbits of the other distant minor planets.

The orbits of the outer major planets Jupiter through Neptune are shown in light blue and those of the Centaurs are gold. The orbits of objects in 2:3 resonance with Neptune, including Pluto, are shown in light green, while those objects in other resonances with Neptune are shown in dark green. Objects with 1992 QB1-like orbits (perihelia well beyond Neptune) are shown in dark blue. 1996 TL66 is shown in purple. Objects that are lost are not included in this diagram. A different plot of the outer solar system is also available.

In this view, objects in direct orbits (all the objects is this plot) move counterclockwise and the vernal equinox is towards the right. Details on the objects included in this plot are given in the lists of unusual minor planets. The plot is correct for the date given at the bottom of the plot.
