Credit Card Payments
Effective immediately, the Central Bureau for
Astronomical Telegrams, Minor Planet
Center and International Comet
Quarterly can accept payment by credit card.
- Payments can be accepted for MasterCard or Visa cards, subject to a
$20 minimum order (to save on processing and handling charges).
- We cannot accept payments via any other type of card (unless you
use the on-line facility).
Credit card orders may be placed using our
secure on-line ordering form.
This method of payment also allows use of American Express or Discover
cards.
Credit card orders may also be placed by e-mail (to
iausubs@cfa.harvard.edu),
by fax (to USA 617-495-7231), or by telephone (to USA 617-495-7281,
generally between 14:00 and 21:00 UT, Monday to Friday). When sending
orders by fax or e-mail please include the following information:
- your name (as given on the credit card);
- card type (MasterCard or Visa);
- credit-card number and expiration date;
- address at which the card is registered
- note that this means your address, not the card-issuer's address
- which services you wish to subscribe to;
- if the payment is for the renewal of a current or expired account, please include your account number;
- whether you require a receipt.
The processing of orders failing to give all this information may be delayed.
If not otherwise stated, subscriptions will be entered for one year at the
special rate.
It must be noted that new accounts (and renewals of expired accounts) will not be
effective until the first of the next month, regardless of payment date.
Payments should reach us at least five business
day before the end of the month in order to be promptly credited to your
account.
