Precisely controlling realistic open quantum systems is one of the most exciting and timely frontiers in contemporary quantum sciences and technologies, with implications that range from physics, chemistry, and applied mathematics to quantum information processing and quantum engineering.
The goal of this Topical Group is to identify and work on the main theoretical challenges that need to be addressed to push quantum control further beyond its current boundaries. Special emphasis will be devoted to hybrid quantum control systems of relevance to AMO physics, optimal and robust system identification and control design, quantum measurement and quantum feedback, fundamental limitations.
