Boston Reservations has many rooms in private houses in Cambridge within walking distance of the Observatory. A continental breakfast is provided. For workshops you should call well in advance as these rooms go quickly limiting your options.
Price:$85 per night for a single; $95 for a double. No tax. There is a $5 processing fee for all reservations.
Boston Reservations often gets a better rate at some hotels than the Harvard rate. If you are making a reservation at the Sheraton Commander near the Observatory, The Inn at Harvard or the Harvard Square Hotel it would be wise to check the Boston Reservations rate.
A variety of rooms are available starting at $70 plus tax for a single to $135 plus tax for a suite. Most have television and/or telephones in the room. All include a complimentary continental breakfast. Parking is available at nearby garages for about $15 per night.
A private membership club in the Back Bay. Non-member guest fees are $140 in the Main Clubhouse and $120 in the Annex (single or double) plus tax. The rooms have either queen or twin beds, private baths, televisions and telephones. There are inexpensive single rooms in the Annex at $75 plus tax. These rooms have televisions, telephones and communal bathrooms. Guests are welcome to use the dining room, the bar, the grill and the fitness center. Parking is available for $12 per day.
In the Copley Square area of Boston. Single and double rooms with private baths, cable television and telephones. A continental breakfast is provided and guest have access to the dining room and health club across the street. Rates are $100 single and $110 double plus tax. Parking is available for $14 a day.
In the Back Bay. All rooms have maid service, private baths and telephones. Guests are welcome to use the dining room, bar and reading room.
On Beacon Hill and in the Back Bay. All have telephones, color televisions and air-conditioning. Rates begin at $125 per night.
Across the street from the Chicago Art Institute. 55 rooms and suites. Each has television, telephone and a private bath. Guests are welcome to use the main dining room, grille and deli. The Fitness Center offers a weight room, pool, running track, golf center and basketball, racquetball and handball courts. The room rate is $110 including tax and includes a complimentary continental breakfast.
Located three blocks from the White House. 57 guest rooms with coffee makers, telephones, voice mail, TV, VCR, private baths and complimentary breakfast. There is a main dining room and more casual grille. Guests may use the library, billiards room and Fitness Center which features squash courts, sauna and swimming pool. The room rate is $146.50 including tax.
Two blocks from Union Square. 137 rooms and suites. All have coffee makers, televisions, telephones and private baths. Guests are welcome to use the roof-top dining room, library, Memorial Theater, Fitness Center and swimming pool. Room rates Sunday through Thursday are $119.90 including tax; Friday and Saturday, $144.70 including tax. Parking is available next door at $13.50 per day.
72 rooms and suites with cable television, telephones, private baths, mini-bars and coffee makers. A complimentary continental breakfast is delivered Monday through Friday. The Club has three restaurants for formal and informal dining. two bars and a Fitness Center with swimming pool, sauna and racquetball, handball and squash courts. Free taxi vouchers are available from the Club to any downtown location. The room rate is $137.50 including tax from Monday through Thursday; Friday, Saturday and Sunday the rate is $98.50 including tax. Overnight parking is $8.80.
