Organizers: Meeting Description: X-ray emission due to charge exchange has been detected from comets, planets, the heliosphere, and beyond the solar system. Our understanding of this charge exchange induced x-ray emission has increased dramatically due to recent observations from Chandra, XMM-Newton, and Suzaku coupled with detailed spectral modeling and laboratory astrophysics. The purpose of the Working Group Meeting is to bring together experts in experimental and theoretical atomic physics, x-ray emission modelers, and x-ray observers to discuss recent advances and challenges in this interesting interdisciplinary field. The meeting format will consist of invited talks in the mornings with the afternoons reserved for discussions and one-on-one interactions of the various participants.
