Getting to the CfA from South Station (Amtrak from points south; buses from points west and south)
Take the Red Line heading towards Alewife. Get off at Harvard Square; see below for directions from Harvard Square. Subway maps and schedules can be found here.
Taxis can be taken from the stand just outside South Station on Atlantic Avenue. If coming directly to the CfA, ask to be dropped off at 60 Garden St., Cambridge; the main entrance to the CfA is off of the intersection of Garden St. and Linnaean St.

Getting to the CfA from Harvard Square Station
By bus: take any of the buses 72, 74, 75, or 78 to the stop at the intersection of Bond St. and Concord Ave. Turn right onto Bond St. to enter the parking lot, and continue on the walking path around the right side of the building to the main entrance of the CfA. By taxi: as you exit the the subway station, taxi stands are located directly across Massachusetts Ave. (in front of Bank of America) and 180 degrees behind the subway station (in front of Au Bon Pain). Ask to be dropped off at 60 Garden St., Cambridge; the main entrance to the CfA is off of the intersection of Garden St. and Linnaean St.
By foot (.7 miles): as you exit the subway station, cross Massachusetts Ave. and turn right (passing by Bank of America and CVS). Take the second left onto Garden St. At the third light, bear left at the fork to walk down Concord Ave. Take the second right onto Bond St. to enter the parking lot, and continue on the walking path around the right side of the building to the main entrance of the CfA.
