The f/5 Wavefront Sensor contains two instruments: a commercial Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor (manufactured by Spot Optics) and a rapid deployment science camera with UBVRI filters. The science camera is an Apogee AP8p, containing a SITe 1024x1024 CCD with 0.14 arcsec pixels.

Either instrument can be deployed on-axis or up to 30 arcminutes off-axis. Both instruments are normally deployed between integrations of the f/5 instrument mounted at the Cassegrain focus. The f/5 Wavefront Sensor is mounted on the instrument rotator above the Cassegrain instrument.
