The Minor Planet Electronic Circulars contain information on unusual
minor planets and routine data on comets. They are published
on behalf of Commission 20 of the International Astronomical Union by the
Minor Planet Center, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory,

                   [reprinted from MPC 46469, 2002 Sept. 21]

Staff absences from the Minor Planet Center during the next month will
entail some reduction in the service the international astronomical community
normally enjoys. Every effort will be taken to ensure that The NEO
Confirmation Page is maintained as usual, but rapid action involving main-belt
minor planets should not be expected.
