Northern Lights Should Shine Tonight

Forecasters predict a high likelihood of auroral displays called the Northern Lights through September 16 or 17. The active region shown in this TRACE image has produced many energetic solar flares over the past several days. Any future flares will impact the Earth since the region has rotated to face our world.
