Solar Eruption Seen in Unprecedented Detail
coronal mass ejection
In April, the Smithsonian-designed X-ray Telescope observed a powerful coronal mass ejection on the solar limb. This movie of the eruption was assembled from about 10 hours of still-frame exposures.
