Sun
(left) An X-Ray Telescope image of the sun, showing an active sunspot region to the left of center. (right) The calculated magnetic field overlayed on the XRT image, showing that most field lines loop back to the surface (in blue), but that others (in yellow) near the active region open out into interplanetary space. XRT was built by the SAO and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
