The Sun
A visible-light photograph, taken in 2008 by NASA's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft, showing a Sun devoid of spots. There were 780 spotless days during the extended minimum that took place between 2008-2010; making the solar minimum of sunspot cycle 23 the longest and deepest in the last 100 years.
