HCG 62
A Chandra X-ray Observatory image of the central region of the compact galaxy group known as HCG 62. The range of X-ray surface brightness is represented in this image by various colors: green depicts the lower-brightness regions while purple and reddish indicate increasing X-ray intensity. A new study concludes that powerful jets from black hole activity are unable to sustain the cavities seen in the hot gas, and that some other mechanism is needed.
