Release No. 03-13: Harvard Continues Legacy of Cepheid Discoveries

 | Continuing the Harvard legacy of Cepheid discoveries, astrophysicist Nancy Remage Evans and colleagues have found that some known Cepheid binary systems contain hidden, third companions. In this artist's conception of the Y Carinae system, a swollen yellow Cepheid variable star is orbited by the close binary seen at upper left.
