12:00 Midnight EST on November 3/4, 2009: Over the space of several hours, the Moon moves through the Pleiades, and occults a number of prominent stars in the process. The timing of the event depends on your geographic location. As viewed from Boston, for example, Merope disappears at 11:06 pm EST and reappears at 11:40 pm EST on November 3; Atlas disappears at 12:25 pm EST and reappears at 1:27 am EST on November 4.
