13 November 2007 Dr. Sukanya Chakrabarty (CfA) The Photometric Histories of Galaxies - from ULIRGs to Spirals I will present recent results and methodology that aims to develop an interface between simulations of galaxies and their observations, particularly in terms of their spectral energy distributions and images. These calculations are obtained using the three-dimensional self-consistent radiative transfer code RADISHE, through the time outputs of galaxy merger simulations. I will also present preliminary results from high resolution simulations of isolated galaxies, and an extension of analytic radiative transfer solutions to include a clumpy distribution of dust and gas, motivated by turbulent supported models of star formation.
