Because extragalactic H2O maser emission is weak, the SAMBA Survey
uses three of the most sensitive high-frequency radio antennas in the
world: the 100-m diameter Green Bank Telescope (GBT) and the 70-m
diameter dishes of the NASA
Deep Space Network.
