 Science in Focus: Energy

This eight-part series of one-hour broadcast workshops for K-8 teacher professional development in physical science content will include discussions with children, reminding teachers of the often surprising ideas that their students bring with them to class. Similar discussions with scientists will also be included, helping the participants to see relationships between children's ideas about energy and scientists' ideas. The Energy Project will clarify how energy is transferred, how energy is stored, the difference between potential and kinetic energy, and other key topics. Workshop participants will see and discuss examples of classroom practice focused on various aspects of energy.
