Jets of matter A spinning black hole sends a jet of matter billions of miles into space. This time-lapse movie shows a bubble of plasma being shot towards us at almost the speed of light. The images are taken with a radio telescope, so the color indicates intensity. The accompanying image is an artist's rendition of what astronomers believe GRS 1915 looks like up close. |
