You can se a comparison spectrum at: http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/oir/Research/supernova/RecentSN.html

Ring size: 1.6" East-West 1.2" North-South (but has ~45 dgree inclination) The spot has moved 2 pixels or 0.050" in 7 years or on a different set of images I get a motion for spot #1 of 1.85 pixels @ 0.025 "/pixel = 0.046" 0.05"/1.6" = 0.03125 percent of the ring diameter Time between the 1999 and 2006 image = 2785 days =2.4e8 seconds Ring size=1.2e18cm diameter (from Nino's paper) =1.2e13 km * 0.03125 =3.75e11 km Velocity of =3.75e11 km / 2.4e8 seconds = 1562.5 km/sec The Magellan echelle spectrum I took last year @ H beta. There's emission of +/- 300 km/sec Full width @ zero or continuum level. [OIII] +/- 200 km/sec... and lots of +/- 30 km/sec emission lines from the stationary ring ??
from Peter Garnavich showing the
ring brightness versus time . time runs up and angle left-right. Did the spots (2006 top of
figure) show up in the bright regions (1994 bottom) of the ring ?? Are the Dark regions more
dense then the brigher parts ???

H alpha=Red [OIII]=Green F250W=Blue
HA/[OIII] 2003 = BLUE HA/[OIII] 2006 = RED If the ratio stays the same then we get white (or pink), because the left side is
reddish, that means those spots have much more Ha flux to [OIII] then in 2003 /a>

I guess this is the image that I can make thats closest in color to the previous HST release. http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/archive/releases/star/supernova/2004/09/ These are the Dec 2006 HRC observations.

WFPC and CTIO corrected mags...
The ground mags have the contribution of the ring in them.
These mags have that contribution removed.
I normalized the stars (and therefore debris) mags to the CTIO mags.
for stars.. this is probably okay. However, I didn't use any
corrections in going from HRC/F435W to B or WFPC2/F439W to B.
Corrections could be made for stars, but it doesn't make sences for
the debris (an emission line source).
