Hi Eric,

Today when I talked to Taco, I just realized why you asked this. Actually as I put in the testing log ( # 3 of log
24369), we no longer need to link to any miriad package to use the idl2miriad. The library is already embedded in the
MIR package. I believe the file output by idl2miriad can be used with Jun-Hui's MIRIAD version ( that would be a
surprise if it didn't work. I have been using it without problem). So you don't need to recompile any library for
Jun-Hui's version of MIRIAD, at least on the linux boxes of CF, RG and Hilo machines. For non-linux machines, the MIR
user should follow

https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/~cqi/mir/idl2miriad-lib.txt

to generate their own version of the library. This file is in MIR cookbook website.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Charlie

      Charlie,

A while ago, 2010, you sent me some simple instructions to create the idl2miriad shared object library. I
can't find them. Could you send them to me again? We would like to get the s.o. library created in
      Jun-Hui's version of miriad.

      Thanks, Eric
