     A binary version of beta 1.4.5 has been made based on
a 32 bit computer with Ubuntu 10.10 32bit OS
(http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/sma/miriad/download/).
Here is the download link,

Please try it and let me know whether this binary works on
your 64 bit machine with 32 bit Ubuntu 10.04.
