Hi Nimesh,
Currently, as have been directed, we are focusing on solving
for the problems in one standard path in Miriad for the reduction
of SMA data taken in various observing modes. We also realized some
compatibility problems in the idl2miriad data due to the routines
used in IDL might that have been out of date concerning tremendous
updating in Miriad in the past years. Also the source codes for
the latest version of SMA Miriad are available by downloading
(http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/sma/miriad/download/). The package can
be compiled on linux Redhat and centOS. Please follow the installation
instruction at
http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/sma/miriad/download/installLinux.html
to create the libraries that you need.

Description: idl2miriad (or Erics version: mir2miriad) does not work if you source
/home/miriad/miriad_cvs/MIRRC.linux (to use the 4GHz b/w beta version of
Miriad). You have to source /sma/miriad/linux/MIRRC.linux. This is
because of a shared object library (lib64miriad.so) that is missing (or
corrupted) in the path /home/miriad/miriad_cvs... Can we make a symbolic
.link to this library, accessible from both paths
