Followed user's meeting we had a meeting
with Shoshona and Alice (RG system adm)
to discuss the issue on the Miriad installation
on RG (RGLINUX or RTDC) after Shoshona returned
from her annual leave on Thur. (2/20).

Hi, I agree. I will start getting ready for the transfer. I assume the machine
in Cambridge is Intel from Dell. We will need to make a change to the CPU architecture
to move the machine if that is true. I will be back in the office next week, Tuesday,
but I have to be at the summit that day so will not bet back to this project
until Wed, 25th Feb.

You can get started on that end by making sure libvirt is installed on the destination machine.

Catch you soon ...mac

    Hi Mac,
I just had a meeting with Shoshana and Alice on the issue of setup
    on the RG computer system.
RG (RTDC and RG) already has at least two Linux servers with 48 GB
memory and RH 6* which are available for
having the new Miriad software. There are two options that we can do the
    installation.

    1) just copy the image of the VM hilodr2 and then run that image here
    as you proposed.
Please let Shoshana and Alice know what kind of requirements that
you need and the procedure to copy over or
         setup the image here.

    2) do the regular binary installation. Shoshana can setup an
installation destination and OS here ,
which are identical to the Hawaii system; then we can simply copy
over the binary codes/libraries from Hawaii to RG.

We prefer to your proposal (option 1) since you are also building a
    duplicate data acquisition system here.
