Do we have any test data sets taken from the 4GHz mode that are written in the new format?
It would be good for Miriad to test it before switch if we will kept the 4GHz observing mode with the new data format in the upcoming operation.
So far the Miriad SWARM code has been tested with the new formatted data taken with the observing mode including the 48 legacy
correlator chunks + 2 SWARM chunks. The latest testing data set available to Miriad test is 140424_12:18:22.
Please update me if my information is out of date.
      Thanks.

I think we will use the new format for *all* observations.

Is this new format for SWARM data operation or just for 4 GHz mode operation? or Both?

            Dear SMA Data Enthusiast,

I know I've threatened to do this several times, but unless somebody objects,
I'm going to switch us to the new data file format at the start of the next SMA semester, Nov. 15th.
Now would be a very good time to suggest any additional modifications to the file format that
you would like to have implemented before the switch.
