Hi Mac & Pat,
    One of you may make an announcement to the appropriate groups of people for the
following update in Miriad for SAWRM data handling.

The test on the clone hilodr3 is successfully gone through with the latest SWARM data
available to Miriad test (see http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/sma/miriad/wbcorrTest/swarmbeta.html).
The version identification of the Miriad code for SWARM data handling has been updated:

SMA-beta3.2.0/Miriad4.3.5 ==> Miriad SWARM1.0.0
SMA-beta3.2.1/Miriad4.3.5 ==> Miriad SWARM1.0.1
SMA-beta3.2.2/Miriad4.3.5 ==> Miriad SWARM1.0.2

The current installation on hilodr2 is Miriad SWARM1.0.2. The setup instruction for Miriad SWARM running on the public data machine hilodr2
as well as its clones is given in the cyberlink: http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/sma/miriad/wbcorrTest/swarmbeta.html

    Thanks,
    Jun-Hui

    Thanks, Mac:
          I have made some updating for Miriad code for SWARM data handling while testing you virtual machine (hilodr3) setup.
    So far so good concerning the clone setup; I do have some problems with the network connection, 1) hiccup, sometime the pause
    in network communication lasts several minutes; this may be due to a bottleneck traffic in cambridge;
    but I am not sure and need further investigation.
    2) if the pause take longer than about 5min., the system simply drops the network connection. This may be caused by my local setup
    in network. I have cc this email communication to Pat Mailhot, who supposes to take care of the system of my desk top.

         I will make an announcement on the availability of the Miriad for handling SWARM data on the new clone as well as the code updating
    to the same groups of sma staff (staffhi, staffcambridge) upon the test completion.

         The best,
         Jun-Hui

        Hi, yes that would be a good idea. Glen has run his pipeline and that works fine.
     I would really like to know that we could reduce one of our latest SWARM datafiles.

        thanks       ...mac

                   Great! SMA has more fund to enhance our computer power.
            Shall I need to test Miriad on hilodr3?
                   Thanks, Jun-Hui

                Thanks to memory and disk upgrades completed on moi, we have a new
                virtual machine for data reduction. Name and IP are shown below:

                128.171.166.108 hilodr3.sma.hawaii.edu
                 hilodr3

                This machine is basically a clone of hilodr2 so should have a
                complement of IDL, casa, and miriad software. The major improvement
                is in memory capacity now at 128GB, which should allow us to load
                our largest (up to 64GB) data sets in MIR/IDL.

                Thanks and if you see any problems, let me know ...mac
