About Us The SAO Sponsored Programs and Procurement Department is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and submitting all SAO proposals; negotiating, executing, administering, and closing out all incoming contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and other awards that are received from our various sponsors; providing assistance with export control compliance regulations; procuring all goods and services required by the scientific divisions and administrative departments within SAO; issuing and administering all Chandra X-ray Observatory Center (CXC) awards for and on behalf of NASA; and assisting members of the SAO community with all of their travel and special events needs. Chandra Stage 2 Cost Proposals for Cycle 11 are due September 17, 2009. Instructions for submission of Chandra Cost Proposals have been posted on the SAO Subgrants web page. Please note that there have been several changes to the submission process. Both investigators and administrators are encouraged to read the complete instructions. Instructions for 2009 year-end processing of SAO purchase requisitions are now available on our What's New page. The Chandra Postdoctoral Fellowship Program has merged with the GLAST Fellows Program into the Einstein Postdoctoral Fellowship Program beginning with fellowships starting in 2009.
