Look what's under the magnetic carpet! The solar physics key to open the corona: the chromosphere

I will attempt to show why we can no longer just "brush the
chromosphere under the carpet", magnetic or otherwise, and ignore its
importance either in a solar or plasma physics context. I hope to
convince you that the chromosphere deserves to be studied by more than
an interesting group of souls who have, like myself, long since lost
their way, and become hopelessly entangled in one of the most awkward
parts of the Sun.
