I'm Project Manager of the
NASA Astrophysics Data System,
(ADS) a Digital Library portal for researchers in Astronomy and
Physics developed and maintained at the
Harvard-Smithsonian
Center for Astrophysics.
I am also the PI for the
SIMBAD
USA project, which maintains local mirror sites and services
provided by the SIMBAD project.
My current duties are:
- Leading the planning, development and management of ADS and
SIMBAD USA,
including the ADS Abstract Service, offering access to
over 6 million bibliographic records, and the ADS Article archive,
with over 3.5 million scanned pages.
- Implementation and enhancement of key software components in use
by the ADS, including modules for Bibliographic Data Harvesting and
Indexing, Image Compression, Reference Parsing, Resource Linking,
and Data Replication.
- Representing the ADS as the authoritative technical expert in
interactions with other organizations concerning software services
and standards.
- Planning and deployment of hardware and middleware used by
the project's services.
