Welcome. I am an instrument programmer in the Optical and Infrared Astronomy Division at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
I write control software for a few instruments in development and in use, including MegaCam, MMIRS, and HARPS-NEF. My software is deployed at the MMT Telescope in Arizona and the Magellan Telescopes in Chile. Most of my work is in Tcl/Tk with extensions in C running on Linux computers. I'm also big fan of PMAC motor controllers which have their own proprietary language.
