The f/5 secondary is a light-weighted Zerodur mirror designed by CFA engineers, led by Robert Fata. It was polished at the the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab by Bryan Smith, with oversight from Buddy Martin and Steve Miller.
The f/5 secondary cell concept is due to Brian Cuerdin of Steward Observatory. Shawn Callahan of the MMTO has led the detailed design, fabrication, and test of the cell assembly. The cell is supported and positioned with a hexapod specified by Steve West of the MMTO and designed and manufactured in Italy by ADS.
