Kevin R. Covey
Spitzer FellowSummary
I am an observational astrophysicist researching how stellar magnetic fields affect the formation and evolution of low-mass stars. In particular, I am working to understand how magnetic phenomena allow stars to accrete mass and shed angular momentum as they form, and how those magnetic fields change over the course of a star's lifetime. To shed light on these topics, I make observations at wavelengths ranging from X-rays to the sub-millimeter, and then use the results to test theories that describe the formation and evolution of stars.
