Research Interests
The unifying theme of my research is star formation. For my M.Sc., I worked on computational models of the collapse of low-mass pre-protostellar cores. My Ph.D. research is observational in nature, concentrated at radio and sub-mm wavelengths. I am currently pursuing--or have recently pursued--research in the following areas:
- The kinematics of star-forming cores; in particular, examining their sources of support (ex. rotation and turbulence), and bulk motions linked to their evolutionary states (ex. infall and outflows)
- The search for young, high-mass protostellar and pre-protostellar objects
- The development of an evolutionary sequence for high-mass pre-protostellar objects, akin to the PPC through Class III sequence for low-mass cores
- Modelling the gravitational collapse of pre-protostellar cores using high-resolution hydrodynamic simulations
