Science Education/Outreach
I work with a couple of educational initiatives in Boston.  I love the challenge and fun of communicating science to non-scientists.
    - CfA public observatory nights - I’m always at the telescopes, and last year
I also ran observing nights for kids on first Thursdays.  Check here for more
information, including some ideas for cloudy night activities.
    - Museum of Science, Boston - I volunteer in the exhibit hall interpretation
program, doing physical science demonstrations and introducing visitors to critters
from the live animal center.  I have also been a guest on their weekly podcast.

Teaching
Sometimes I venture into the realm of formal teaching as well.  Here’s a list of my teaching activities so far:
    - Teaching Fellow for A-36 (Observing the Sun & Stars), fall 2008
    - Teaching Fellow for Ay 218 (Radio Astronomy) at Harvard, fall 2007
    - Teaching Fellow for Ay 2 (Celestial Navigation) at Harvard, fall 2006
    - Teaching Assistant at the Summer Science Program, summer 2005
    - Yale College Dean’s Office Physics & Astronomy tutor, 2003-2005
Diversity
I’m also interested in issues of diversity in science, particularly those that are gender-related.  To that end, I’m an astronomy department representative to HGWISE and I participate in an undergrad-grad women in science mentoring program. These are great fun and greatly rewarding.
