High resolution polarimetry of the interstellar medium by Dr. Bryan Gaensler (CfA)   The Southern Galactic Plane Survey is a recently completed effort to map the entire Southern Galaxy in the HI line and in 21-cm continuum at a resolution of 1-2 arcmin. One of the most interesting aspects of this data-set is the linearly polarized component of the continuum emisison. The resulting images of polarization show a variety of complicated structures, most of which show no counterpart in total intensity. I will describe the SGPS, present our analysis of these data, and will show how the polarized emisison can be used to probe structure and turbulence in the mageto-ionized interstellar medium
