I am part of the Supernova
Group at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics
(CfA). My research mainly revolves around the spectroscopic properties
of supernovae [more under Research].
I have been actively involved in the ESSENCE project, designed
to observe distant Type Ia supernovae. The goal is to determine the
nature of the Dark Energy that pervades space by measuring its
equation of state.
I defended my PhD thesis, entitled
"Optical Spectra of Thermonuclear Supernovae in the
Local and Distant Universe", at the
Ludwig-Maximilians Universität
(Munich, Germany) in November 2005.
